In the holiday

There are many coffee shops in hirosaki. Pecullarly, there are near the hirosaki castle. I like coffee, so, in the holiday, I go to there. It is interesting to go into old style shop. I think that the decorate the outside and inside is beautiful. I always order coffee and some cakes. It is good time for me to spend lazily with eat it alone. Of course, with friends is good, too. But, it has a problem that it is expensive. So, I can go to there only in the holiday. I want to go all coffee shop that in hirosaki.

My favorite comic book

I like to read comic books very much. So, I want to introduce one of my favorite comic books to you. The comic book is "ONE PIECE". It teach me the importance of companions. The main character called "Luffy" has a dream of becoming the king of pirates and is looking for a secret treasure, gathering his companions. He always thinks much of them and never forgives people for hurting them. The phrases that he says always move me deeply. "Risk our lives with your life!! you are one of our number!!" he says is one of the favorite phrases for me. Nowadays, the comic book is popular not only in Japan but also many countries. Black 

Actually I was going to introduce the big big news about the discovery of new type of life. from NASA. However Mr.KOUEI have already written the topic. So I will write other topic news from NASA and please read Mr.KOUEI's blog too. The article I paid attention is about the development of the matter blacker than black. This is very interesting too.

Black is black, right? Not so, according to a team of NASA engineers now developing a blacker-than pitch material that will help scientists gather hard-to-obtain scientific measurements or observe currently unseen astronomical objects, like Earth-sized planets in orbit around other stars.

The nanotech-based material now being developed by a team of 10 technologists at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Md., is a thin coating of multi-walled carbon nanotubes — tiny hollow tubes made of pure carbon about 10,000 times thinner than a strand of human hair. Nanotubes have a multitude of potential uses, particularly in electronics and advanced materials due to their unique electrical properties and extraordinary strength. But in this application, NASA is interested in using the technology to help suppress errant light that has a funny way of ricocheting off instrument components and contaminating measurements.


The black improved by the carbon nanotubes will be use to many kinds of study. For example, We can get to measure smaller lights from the universe. Now the current telescope use black paint to reduce the reflection of lights, but it is not perfect. The carbon nanotubes will make the black paint 10 times darker than it is. So it enables us to see the materials that we have seen as black.

Strange Organism?

On December 3rd, the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) announced that NASA discovered a strange organism. This can grow without phosphorus. General Organisms need phosphorus. Phosphorus is a central component of carrying energy in all cells and it constructs DNA and RNA. So, it had been said that all life need phosphorus. But, this organism can use arsenic instead of phosphorus. Arsenic is deadly poison, so general organisms cannot use it. NASA says like this:
Carbon, hydrogen, nitrogen, oxygen, phosphorus and sulfur are the six basic building blocks of all known forms of life on Earth. Phosphorus is part of the chemical backbone of DNA and RNA, the structures that carry genetic instructions for life, and is considered an essential element for all living cells.

Phosphorus is a central component of the energy-carrying molecule in all cells (adenosine triphosphate) and also the phospholipids that form all cell membranes. Arsenic, which is chemically similar to phosphorus, is poisonous for most life on Earth. Arsenic disrupts metabolic pathways because chemically it behaves similarly to phosphate.

"We know that some microbes can breathe arsenic, but what we've found is a microbe doing something new -- building parts of itself out of arsenic," said Felisa Wolfe-Simon, a NASA astrobiology research fellow in residence at the U.S. Geological Survey in Menlo Park, Calif., and the research team's lead scientist. "If something here on Earth can do something so unexpected, what else can life do that we haven't seen yet?
This organism is quite different from others on earth. So, this discovery activate discussions about life out of the earth. And, the beginning of the earth, there is a lot of arsenic. So, this discovery may reveal new facts about the evolution of life.

Do you know him?

Do you know Steve Jobs? Recently,he became very famous. ...He is a president of Apple Computer. You know Apple Computer,I think. It is famous for iPod. I want to show you his speech. When I first read his speech,I was a high school student. I met his speech on my english textbook. I was impressed by his speech. He says as follow but this is only a part of the speech.

"For the past 33 years, I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: "If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?" And whenever the answer has been "No" for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.
Remembering that I'll be dead soon is the most important tool I've ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life. Because almost everything ― all external expectations, all pride, all fear of embarrassment or failure - these things just fall away in the face of death, leaving only what is truly important. Remembering that you are going to die is the best way I know to avoid the trap of thinking you have something to lose. You are already naked. There is no reason not to follow your heart.

Your time is limited, so don't waste it living someone else's life. Don't be trapped by dogma ― which is living with the results of other people's thinking. Don't let the noise of others' opinions drown out your own inner voice. And most important, have the courage to follow your heart and intuition. They somehow already know what you truly want to become. Everything else is secondary. "

After you read that,what did you think? Nobody can make that speech I think. Only Steve Jobs can make it. That's because he did many many experience so far. He did happy experience,but he also did bad experience that you can't imagine. I learned a lot from his speech. I realized that what I should do is what I love and what I want to do now.

About Christmas!!

The Christmas season will come a little!When I was a child,Christmas was the day when I could get some presents by Santa Claus.So I love him and believe Santa Claus exist.But my friends told me Santa Claus wasn't exist and I was so disappointed.Santa Claus exist,however!!The international society for Santa Claus says "Santa Claus lives in Greenland.There are many Santa Claus all over the world and they have licenses to be a Santa Claus.And they have a World Santa Claus meeting in July.In this meeting,Christmas shows and palades are held.Please watch this events by all means."

Slow Food

Slow food is not any food but a way to have everyday meals. It is not like my way to do so. I always ignore my alarm clock, and jump to get up, and eat some bread with milk poured into my mouth.
