Playing around with bicycles is a hobby of mine. When I get some money, I usually spend it on parts of my bicycle. So, I can't save for something. In any event, I feel happy when I replace the parts and look at my bicycle been in good repair.

My hobby

My hobby is playing Tsugaru-samisen these days. Tsugaru-samisen has some difference between Tsugaru and ordinary one. Tsugaru-samisen has a thicker neck than ordinary samisen and it's drumhead is dog's leather. In special, it is said that female Akita-ken's leather is article of the highest quality. Now, I can play four pieces of music. The tones of samisen makes me lively. In the coming year, Tsugaru-samisen circle will perform at Ringo Park on every weekend. So I have to practice more harder.

One of my hobby is making sweets. I often make sweets on my friend's birthday, party or my family special day. I usually make baked sweets:cakes, cookies, muffins and the like. My mother is great at cooking and making sweets, so I'm learning from her. Making cakes is very fun and I feel happy when I eat them. That is why I like the time making sweets.

Can Robot Fingers Be God Ones?

Toyota presented their new robot who can play the violin with him flexible 5 fingers.
According to Yahoo!News:
Toyota President Katsuaki Watanabe said robotics will be a core business for the company in coming years. Toyota will test out its robots at hospitals, Toyota-related facilities and other places starting next year, he said. And the company hopes to put what it calls "partner robots" to real use by 2010, he said.

Toyota think that this technology puts to practical uses, not only robotics but also healing of human who suffers for him social position.

Okada gets official nod from JFA

Takeshi Okada was unanimously approved by the Japan Football Association's as natioal coach instead of Osim who remains in intensive care after suffering a stroke.
JFA president Saburo Kawabuchi said,
"We asked Ono(technical director) if Okada had any requests from us, and he said Okada had none. Ono told the board that a new coach of any team destroys the old culture, but he thinks Okada will keep the destroying to a minimum.Ono believes Okada is the right man to build on what Osim has left us so far. Crude Oil

The boost in crude oil is continueing.The price of kerosene is over 1700yen and the price of gasoline became most highest since 1987.This problem effect on everypeople. I was surprised to see sweet roll's price become from 100yen to 110yen.I don't think the boost in crude oil effect on my life.I want to research more what happen about gasoline from now on.

There is a superstition in Japan that the cause of earthquake is an eel. People of former days thought eel has magical power, I would say. In our time, we recoginize the existence of electric eel. So, I found news about electric eel.
KAKAMIGAHARA, Gifu -- An aquarium filled with exotic fish here is using an electric eel to power lights on a Christmas tree. Each time the electric eel at the Aqua Toto Gifu aquarium touches a copper wire in its tank, it sends power that lights up globes decking a Christmas tree.

Blogging a news story: Darfur

I said you could write about any kind of story for your own blog entries, but for my own I thought I'd write about an ongoing story that is simply horrific. The situation in Darfur is one of the world's worst conflict situations, and even threatens to spread outside Sudan to neighboring Chad. It is a situation that is now involving the UN Security Council, NATO, the African Union, the Arab League and other international organizations. There is supposed to be intervention to stop ongoing genocide, but the logistical and political problems are very serious.

According to Jennie Matthew writing from Khartoum:

The head of the UN peacekeeping force in Sudan's Darfur region has highlighted an urgent need for helicopters, saying the global community must donate them or the entire mission must be reviewed.

The international force, set to number 26 000, will formally replace a small African Union mission on January 1, but still lacks six combat and 18 transport helicopters, vital to operate in a war-torn Sudanese area the size of Texas.
She quotes the head of the African Union force on the ground as saying:

"The international community has got its back to the wall and some are asking 'really is it impossible for the entire international community to mobilise 24 helicopters,'"

She also notes that the UN blamed the Sudanese government for the problems:

On Tuesday, the head of UN peacekeeping, Jean-Marie Guehenno, complained that Sudanese government red tape and lack of resources are delaying the deployment of the peacekeepers

But Reuters News said that the Sudanese government blamed the UN itself for the delays:

SUNA [Sudan's state news agency] quoted senior foreign ministry official Suraj el-Din Hamid as saying President Omar Hassan al-Bashir had already issued directives to allocate all the land the mission needed, and that the United Nations had delayed meetings in New York to discuss the deployment twice in two weeks.

"The problems in dealing with the United Nations on this peacekeeping operation reflects the ability of the peacekeeping unit to direct this mission," Hamid said.

Meanwhile China threatened one of the major rebel groups fighting the Sudanese government. The Justice and Equality Movement, an Islamist group fighting against Arab domination of the Sudan, had said that Chinese troops were only going to Sudan to protect Chinese investments, and said that they would specifically target Chinese troops among any United Nations forces.

According to a report on a South African website:

China on Wednesday fired back at a rebel group's threats against its peacekeepers in Darfur, saying Beijing was committed to stabilising the troubled Sudanese region and urged the opposition to join in peace talks.

Rebels in the Sudanese Justice and Equality Movement have warned that they could target Chinese troops because Beijing supplies military and economic support to Sudan's government.

The movement, which has boycotted peace talks, claims the Chinese were sent to protect Beijing's investments in the oil industry. Last month, its fighters attacked the Chinese-run Defra oil field in neighbouring Kordofan region and abducted two foreign workers.

I hope you will take an interest in this important, ongoing story and learn something of the background to this conflict. If Japan is really going to ask for a permanent seat on the United Nations Security Council and take a more important role in international affairs, people will have to learn more about what is going on in the outside world.

Iai Activity

On this past weekend, I was absorbed in taking lessons the Iai. Iai means drawing a sword. We probably learn samurai-soul through Iai. Although I don't know about samurai-soul clearly, I believe that we can get something important mind. The least I do... I do.

My Weekend

I watched 3 DVDs on saturday and Sunday. "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" is the First one. I've been love its original story series since I was an elementary school child. So I really had wanted to go to cinema, but I couldn't. However, I enjoied the movie enough in my room and soon I hope to watch the next one. Next, I watched "OUTBREAK" for my report of biohazard measures class. It showed me terror of virus and terror of endless report. After that, I watched the last one, "The Great Dictator" which made by Charlie Chaplin. It was funny and interesting, but it made me think, and cry a little at last. Totally, I think I had a good time this weekend.

My weekend

I had a futsal game last week. All participation teams belong to Hirosaki university. Our team won the all league match. In second game in league match, I got a goal with nice pass from team mate. Although we were top in the league, we lost in second round in tournament.
Next week, futsal game is held in same place. We want to win all games by all means.

My job

I am making a dormitory document.It is written about introduction of each room,love survey,boarder's ranking and so on.Eight boarding students makes it and give it to graduates of university and dormitory.We divide the work among us eight.Sending survey of boarder's lanking is my job. It is so hard for me to collate the results of the survey.But making a dormitory document is one of the boarder's job.So,I do my best in order to get graduates of university and dormitory to delighted.

My weekend


November 24, I attended a wedding celemony to perform as a band.
I am on keyboards. The performance was a success. The bridal pair was deeply gratified by the performance of our band.
The two of them looked very happy.
It was a very happy day for me.

My holidays


I spent my holidays reading ''HANS ANDERSON'S FAILY TALES''. Andersenian stories are familiar to us, for example ''The Emperor's New Cloths'', ''Thumbelina'',''The Little Marmaid'' and so on. There are some difference between the original and Japanese version. So it was very interesting.

My three consecutive holidays

Three consecutive holidays was short for me because I had a part-time job in a preparatory school on Friday and Saturday. I usually teach junior high school students social studies or English. But sometimes I can't answer questions from students. So I want to be able to answer any question. And I had to clean my room and do a lot of washing on Sunday because my room was so much stuff scattered about that I couldn't find anywhere to sit. It took about half a day. That was my holidays.

I major in life science. We are studying basic biochemistry now. Needless to say that life is composed of various atoms. Then, what's differences between life and nonlife? My major is Agriculture and Life Science. We learn the fundamentals of biology, science and phisics, then study the function of living body and put it to use developing biotechnology. To be concrete, our major has 3 fields. First, to study about genes is the basic knowledge to understand the infurmation of life. Second, it is important to studyy about cells. Because cells are the most efficient mechanism made by nature. Third, we study about foods and bacteria. Bacteria let foods go bad, but they often ferment foods and change very delicious. And sometimes, bacteria promotes able material which is useful to medicine. Thus, our major study possibility of life and the methods to put to practical use.

Summer Vacation


I went to Sukayu hot springs by bike in Mt.Hakkoda in this summer vacation. It was really hard to go up a series of steep hills.
Sukayu has a big bathtub which 100 people can take a bath. After a short break in the hot spring, I left for home. This is one of the best memories of my summer vacation.

Movie

Pure love movies are in fashion in Japan for some years. This boom was sparked by Winter Sonata, a korean TV drama. Recently, Socrates in Love attracted 6.2million viewers. According to the survey of The Daily Yomiuri, pure love movies hold the top three of box office profits of Japanese movie in 2005. We can see all the rage of pure love movies from these data. One Korean cultural critic says that a savage social atmosphere of late such as terrorism and the Iraq War is the reason behind the boom of pure love movie in Japan. And he says a depression in these years influence too. These things show that the boom of pure love movie in Japan is likely to continue for a while.

Word processor

Word processor are useful, but sometimes handwriting is better than writing by a word processor. First, every time we use a word processor, we can write beautiful and well-balanced characters. Therefore many univercity students use them to write an assignment. Office workers also use them to make a lot of documents. Word processor are necessaries at many schools, offices and so on. On the other hand, characters of word processors occasionally give us serious impression. For example, a letter written by a word processor is not so friendly. Against that, a handwriting letter give us a good impression. Thus, word processor are convenient, however, in some cases we cannot use them to write.

Advertising

Recentry, biased reports which are sent by huge media has been growing up as effective advertising.
Advertising is devided into positive advertising and nagative advertising.
Positive advertising, as you think, emphasize good aspect of the thing or the man.
On the other hand,nagative advertising emphasize bad image to warn people about homicide, marchandise camouflage, corruption case, and so on.
Ofcourse, it is important to listen to werning and prepare for danger.
But the report become heater and heater, stricter and stricter we drive the persons concerned.
For example, in 2005, a news about structural document camouflage case had been overheated, and the accused's wife leaped to death. If the media had not advertised supposition or private things about the accused, she would not sufferd such.
Moreover, especially negative advertising is apt to be creeped in mind of the masses compared to positive advertising.
Because it is advertised as if it is real by news program and news paper, not entertainment program and magazin.
In conclusion, it is important for us to collect reliable information and judge correct thing by myself, not rely on advertising.

Advertising

Advertising is combined art.
We can know various informations through ads. It's because not only we can read words, but also we can understand what ads is saying. I mean ads have an implied information.
What is the implied information? That isn't words informations but color, illustrations and so on. In other words, the implied information stimulate our imagination. There are good examples about this. Look at picture(1) and (2). You surely know which is the more impressive of the two.
Sentences can convey informations accurately but usually have an only meaning. That is, from one sentence we perceive one restricted information which includes no room to inflate our imagination. So, designers of ads consider how to tell these implied informations. They try to produce fresh designs to draw our attention by using color, illustrations and so on.
In conclusion, advertising is an artwork which consists of whole artistic elements like a tactful phrase, elegant composition, effective color selection, significant illustrations and so on.

Learning English on the Internet

I'm not going to introduce myself here. I already did that in class, and you can find out more about me from my website, e.g. the FAQs page. Instead I'm going to show you the kind of website you're supposed to find this week, and how to post information about them. You only have to find one website, but I thought I would post one for each of the four language skills.

KCRW was my favorite radio station when I went to UCLA. It was just the local, community college radio station, but they had some of the best music, and the widest variety, of any station. When they started an African music show I even got to go down to the station and share some of my albums with the DJs. Now I listen to them on the Internet, where they have turned into one of the biggest stations in Internet Radio. I especially enjoy their news and podcasts. The level of their English might be a little above yours, but you might like their music.

A source of easier English for listening might be the ESL podcast site.

You can read English just about anywhere on the Internet, and even many sites that aren't basically English usually have English pages for international visitors. The Japan Times website might be of interest to you, though, since they have lots of information about Japan in English.

Writing English is becoming more and more common on the Internet, since many blogs and news sites allow visitors to leave comments. Of course this blogsite is for you to practice writing, and you are free to start your own blog if you want, but such sites as Japan Today have room for many comments from visitors. Feel free to jump into the arguments and flame away!

Now,I'm introducing about one of my favorite soccer player.

His name is Naotake Hanyu!!He is a member of the official soccer team.To tell the trueth,I'm not his long fan.In addition,I didn't even know him until Mr Osim selected him as a member of Japanese team.


However,the impression I got from his play was great!!He ran and ran in the field and showed me many wonderful plays.I was surprised how long he ran.Then,his position is side midfielder and I'm playing the same position now.I want to become like him someday!!I cheer him very much!!

In Japan,becoming aging society is a big probrem.According to Ministry of Public Managment,aged 65 and over is about twenty million and attends a sixth in 2005.Compared to 1920th,the increasing is huge.It's not bad that many people live long but the big proportion of aged people is big problem.The reason is decreasing young people and babies.Then,people shold birth more!!

Do you know sannnaimaruyama? It is famous remains of the Jomon period in Aomori. I want to introduce some remains in sannnaimaruyama.
The upper picture is sheds. The sheds were built 4500 years ago! They are called takayukasikisouko. They were used for not only stock but also ritual.
The under picture is the grave for children. There was a earthenware in the grave and there were some stones in the earthenware. It is interesting custom.

I am researching on the relationships between the ratio of students receiving tentative job offers and the rates of job availability, so I introduce my consideration about them.

Judging from the datas shown in the graph, the rate of job availability in recent is almost 1 time, so all students can find jobs, but in reality many of them become neet or freeters. In fact, students don‘t work hard if they manage to find the job which is different from the one they hope, and they quit their jobs finally or don`t go their workplace from the beginning. Thus, government must work out the ideas for giving students the jobs they hope.

This figure shows the coverage of cellphone in Japan. According to this, over 80% of Japanese have them. For example, 86.8% of Japanese , that is about one hundred million, have in 2006.

We always communicate by using cellphones. Now, we cannot live without them.

According to the graph, the compulsory education of Bolivia is until one student becomes 13 years old, on the other hand, that of Japan requires the graduation of junior high school. Not the degree but the age is the essential factor of the education in Bolivia.
In fact, Bolivia is one of the least industrialized countries in the world, however, there are many colleges that are much older than Tokyo university or Kyoto university that are the oldest and most authoritative ones in Japan. But there are not so many students who can enter the colleges. Poverty is one of the biggest reasons for this. It proves that the problem of money can deprive people of the chances to learn and study.

According to this graph,the number of traffic accident and the toll in Chiba prefecture are increasing. I hope that more and more people drive safely and the number decreases.

My favorite season is winter, for I like snow.

Snow is white. White is beautiful!!


Also, we can do various things with snow; for example, play yuki-gassen, diving into snow, making kamakura, and making yuki-daruma.

This picture is Hirosaki Castle in winter. There are some yuki-doros in this. Yuki-doro is a figure made of snow. They are also beautiful.
