My name is Shimaguchi Yuko.

I specialize earth science.

I am from Aomori city.

So I go to this university by train every day. It takes for an hour. 

My  hobby is reading books, listening music, drawing picture.

Now I try to play the piano by ear. It's very difficult, but very interesting!

Besides, I try to expose myself to English every day. For example, I read "news nationalgeographic.com". It's very useful because I can know hot science news and learn science words.

I want to improve myself.　It is for that I try to increase what I can do.

About my major

I tell you about my major
My major is engineering. Engineering is a department which uses science ( math, physics, chemistry, and so on ) to make human`s life better. So, engineers have to study science hard. Engineers may make bad machines ( like  atomic bomb ). So, they also have to learn about ethics. In recent years, they are making machines of wide field. For example, medical machines, nursing machines, cleaning robots, home electronics, robot which have an emotion, and so on. They also make rocket, and satellite. It`s very dreamful. I think this major is not only fun but also useful for humanity.Particularly, this major`s feature is that it can`t exist without human. That`s reason why I like it.

 I was born in Obihiro. Obihiro is east place of Hokkaido. I belong to the department of engineering. So, I want to be a competent engineer. I had played soft tennis for 6 years. But now Idon`t play it. I like math and physics, and I read books written about science. My character is bad. I`m very shy and nervous, and I`m a contrary person.  I dislike crowded place. And I also dislike hot place because I was born in Hokkaido. Now, I try to improve my bad point.
