hello!! I wish you luck in studying English. If you ever need help you can always e-mail me. I'm learning Japanese by the way, so you can speak in both languages ^_^

I forgot to mention the restaurant Da Ferido. It used to be near school, but it moved closer to downtown. It is a bit expensive on a student budget, but it features northern Italian cuisine, which is hard to find in Japan.

Hi, I always pop by this site, so nice to see people trying English. Trying is the most important thing, mistakes are not important, ever.... unless you are doing exams.Life is not an exam!!! :)
Nice entry. I love restaurants and bars too. Atmosphere, friends, and food and drink = great time.
I hear there are many foreigners in Hirosaki who would love to speak English with you, regardless of your ability. And many foreigners who would love to practice their Japanese. One problem, the great wall of nonchalance that separates us all. You wont speak to us, we in return wont speak to you.
One thing I have noticed when in Japan is that when I attempt to speak and maybe my pronounciation is a bit wrong, people suddenly cannot understand anything, simply because I pronounce a small bit wrong. This makes me feel sad that I am silly.
Try speaking English ,about 98% of my Japanese friends who do not have great pronounciation are perfectly understandable.
Context of conversation, ability to empathsize with the speaker in the likely meaning of their words, and much sign language and pointing never fails.
I feel annoyed sometimes that while I make an effort to speak in what little Japanese I know , many Japanese folk refuse to speak English in fear of being 'wrong'
However, we would love to make Japanese friends to speak with them and be nice.

please do not think i was being nasty. But hiding behind a shield of 'shy' won't help anyone.xxx have a go, dont be scared, you have nothing to lose.

ps
And Maki, I really hope you get your dreams. The only thing in the world that stops us getting them is ourself.xx
