I was surprised and impressed to find out this movie was released in 1940, before the United States entered World War II. But Chaplin's brilliance isn't limited to making a joke out of everything. Charlie Chaplin succeeds in being both extremely funny and witty and yet at the same time provides a strong statement in his satire against fascism. Now,there are many wars in the world.
