I think favorite song is good new topic. Because songs have connection with memories, hobbis, feelings and so on. For example, if I listen to one song, I will remember one event, and it will make me happy or sad. And then I think that everyone has each favorite songs, so it is suitable for new topic. Therefore, talking about favorite songs means introducing oneself.
