Good evening, everyone! I'm Kiho. We have only one lecture before the first semester has finished. I can't believe! I feel that I attended this class for the first time only the other day....

In the first lecture, I was bewildered at the all English content. My listening skill was only a entrance examination level, so English of native speaker was too difficult for me. I couldn't understand even the explanation about the homework very much, and what was worse, I was not good at computer. Then nothing could be done about it, I went to the office of Mr. Philips to ask how to write the blog. Mr. Philips, do you remember that day?

Since then, I have written this blog every week. I also came to laugh at the English jokes. I'm fortunate to entered this class. Thank you, Mr. Philips and all my classmates! Thank you for your reading!

I love animals, especially cats!! I have a cat named cocoa at my parents' home. The top picture is not my cocoa. I'm sorry for not showing him.

Needless to say,cats are so cute.But there are many other charm of them. For example, they are capricious(sometimes nestling up,but sometimes attacking us) and they tosse about in their sleep. A lot of cats live in Hirosaki, so I can see them many times. I am happy. ...But actually I wanna see my loving cocoa. I'm going to play with him very much when I'm go back home in this summer vacation.

Fukuyama!

Hi! I'm Yasu. How's it going? I want to write about my favorite musician, Fukuyama Masaharu.
He was born in Nagasaki, and when he was only eighteen years old, he went to Tokyo to be musician. Now, he is very famous and popular person, but there was nobody in his first live. Any kind of winner has a hard time. His most famous song is "Sakurazaka". It was used in the TV program, "Diary of the future". I can't forget the TV program and the song.
He plays active part as an actor too. Now, He plays Ryoma Sakamoto in historical drama, "Ryomaden". Because it is broadcasted on every Sunday, I look forward to Sunday.
Though I didn't think I take up him as a topic of this blog, it means he is so attractive for me. I long for Both his way of life and thought.
By the way, my most favorite song of him is "Gunjo -ultramarine-". I think this song conveys an important thing in the life to me. Please listen to it!

TOFU

Hi! I'm Mamoru. I like tofu very much. I always buy "hiyayakko", which is cold tofu with some slices of a spring onion, when I have lunch in this student's dining hall. And nowadays I eat a pack of tofu when I have a dinner.

Tofu was born in China and introduced into Japan in the Nara era. Since then tofu is familiar with japanese. That's why there are a lot of tofu dishes in Japan. Tofu is rich in botanical protein and has low calorie. So this food is going to make you healthy if you eat it.

Hello. Do you have a schedule book in your bag? I used to carry it in my bag, but I often lost it. So I'm using Google Calendar. It is designed in the way user can input schedule very easily. You can input and see your schedule by cellphone. If you set up, you can receive e-mail to your cellphone before your tasks. If you can utilize it, you will never forget your promises.

Of course, this schedule is not mine.

Miko

Today , I want to introduce a special member of my family.It's a female mongrel cat named Miko.When I was about 5 years old, a man holding this cat in a nearby park asked me if I wanted to have her. I was too young to decide,but I brought her back to my house.Luckily my parents said OK to have her.So she is now about 15 years old.She is kind of old , isn't she?But she is so energetic that she runs and jumps in and out of the house and sometimes even hunts small animals like sparrows or lizards.But no matter how she is vigorous ,she is still a cat.She spends most of a day for sleeping. She is very very cute and makes me happy whenever I see her .She is one of the most important member of my family,I guess.I'm looking forward to seeing her and being with her during this summer vacation.

Do you know a theme park,"The Wizarding World of Harry Potter?"It's a theme park of the famous movie,"Harry Potter",and located in Colorado.

Ofcourse there is the Hogwarts Castle.The picture shows it.There are also HONEY DUKES(the sweets shop) or OLLIVANDERS(the shop of wands).Some rides are designed with the concept of Harry Potter.

My Favorite Movie Director

Today, I'd like to talk about my favorite movie director. I like Tim Burton very much. His masterpieces are "EDWARD SCISSORHANDS", "The Nightmare Before Christmas", "Sleepy Horrow", and so on. I think his view of the world is unique. Indeed, the picture in his movie is so beautiful. However, it is true that we were divided in our likings. Some people say that his movies are horrible and his movie is difficult to understand.

Now, I recommend his movie. It is "Big Fish". If you see its DVD in rentai video shop, please watch it. You will feel wormth.

I almost forgetted to write about his latest movie!! It is "Alice in Wonderland". I haven't watched it yet. I want to watch it!!

I like sports

I like sports. Both playing sports and watching sports are fun for me. Playing sports excite me. Watching sports entertain me. Moreover, playing sports is good for our health. It is truly a case of killing two birds with one stone.

I like some sports. Basketball, badminton, tennis, baseball , soccer and so on. I belonged to basketball club when I was a junior high school student. I belonged to badminton club when I was a high school student. Now, I belong to tennis club. Each sports gave me many many things. Each sports brought up me.

I can't choose the most favorite sport for me. Each sports have its merits and defects. However, maybe I continue playing sports bacause I like sports. (I study hard too!!)

Old friend

Hello! It's Ryo Kikuchi. How do you do?

Today, I want to explain my old friend. Her name is Mika. She is a woman of my age. We have known each other since I was a junior high school student. Now she is a student who failed her college, and she studies very hard in Tokyo.
As a matter of fact, I happened to meet her near "dormy inn" a short time ago. I was very surprised!! We noticed each other, then we talked about various things there. After that, I took her to my room of my apartment house. Then, we had a pleasant chat there. We talked about memories of our high school and our lives. I had a very enjoyable time!!
In summer, I am going to have a big volleyball meet. It will be held in Saitama. She lives in Itabashi. So, I think that I will go there to meet her after the meet. I am looking forward to meeting her.

My favorite movie is "Blues Brothers".This movie is absolutely a masterpiece!!I've never watched such a exciting movie.
This movie is a story about two musicians,Jake and Elwood.They are brothers and raised in an orphanage.But it is about being closed because they can't pay the tax.So Jake and Elwood decide to earn money by the reunion of their band.But police,Illinois Nazis, and so on,chase them.What their end will be!?
This movie is a comedy musical so you can enjoy this movie with laughing.

Do you know tuba?Almost all of you don't know it,I think.You know trumpet, flute and violin,don't you?They have gorgeous and high sound and they usually have melodies andsolos ,so they are famous.How about tuba?It has modest and low sound and it rarely has melodies and solos!

Is'nt it necessary for brass band or orchestra?Yes,it is.It plays necessary part!It usually plays a quarter note.Other part play to the rhythm.And tuba supports other instruments.Its low and warm sound makes you calm.

Haven't you wonder why the sky is blue?
Today I want to tell you about the reason why the sky is blue.

First of all, the most important thing to think about the issue is that you understand that light has the character as wave. Because of this character, the scattering occurs.
There are some kinds of scattering. The cause that makes the sky blue depends on Rayleigh scattering. Rayleigh scattering occurs when light injects into a particle whose diameter is shorter than the wavelength of the light. In addition, Rayleigh scattering doesn't change the wavelength after the incidence, and its scattering coefficient is inversely proportional to the four power of wavelength of light. So blue light, the light of short wavelength, scatter well, remained its wavelength. This is why the sky is blue.

By the way, if light injects into a particle whose diameter is as long as the wavelength of the light, Mie scattering occurs. The scattering coefficient of Mie scattering is equal to every wavelength of lights. So the scattered light is white. The white color of clouds due to Mie scattering. Besides when light injects into a particle whose diameter is longer than the wavelength of the light, geometrical optical scattering occurs. Rainbow is made by this scattering.

Epic poem

These days I read a lot of books. I like foreign classical literature in particular, and what I'm reading now is The Kalevala.

Do you know the most greatest three epic poems in the world? It is said that they are The Iliad, The Ramayana and The Kalevala. I knew The Iliad and The Ramayana because they were very famous in the world and often introduced on many textbooks. However, I didn't know The Kalevala, so I got interested in it and felt like reading it.

The Kalevala is a epic poem which Elias Lonnrot compiled from Finnish and Karelian folklore in the nineteenth century. The story is a kind of myth and written mainly about Vainamoinen. He looks like an old man, but he is very strong and can use a lot of spells!

There are some expressions which are too difficult for me to understand, but it is a really beautiful and fantastic story. So if you are interested in epic poetry, try to read The Kalevala.

"Whisper of the Heart"

Good evening, everyone! This time we can write any topics, so I'm going to write about the famous work of Studio Ghibli, "Whisper of the Heart".

It was broadcast last Friday. At first, I thought "I have seen it many times since I was a child, so I don't need to see it today." But after all, I saw it from the middle of the story. Actually there were a lot of things I comprehended for the first time. In fact, I was too little when I saw it last time. I couldn't understand even what he means, "My guess hit the mark at the exam!" Nothing to say, Shizuku's spiritual darkness and their thought and love.... Understanding them, I was made cry.

That was the right moment to see the work. This Friday, "Howl's Moving Castle" will be broadcast. I want to see it but I have to study for the exams:-<　What are you going to do?

It facinate me very much!! Especially, I'm interested in the Ganges.The author say "there is spirit of transmigration of soul.I thought I want

to feel the spirit.And I like curry very much.Once a week, I go to curry

restaurant and eat Indian curry.So I want to eat genuine Indian curry!

This time I'll tell you about my favorite movie "The Mighty Ducks".
This is a Disney film about ice hockey.It's a successful story of a weak hockey team.A new coach appears and the team changes.

Not just the story is good.The uniform of the main team is the real uniform of the NHL team Anahiem Mighty Ducks (now Anahiem Ducks).In addition,famous NHL players appear in this movie.Wayne Gretzky,Basil McRae,Paul Kariya and so on.And in the end,Queen's famous song"We Are The Champions" is used.

"The Mighty Ducks" is a series of three films. All of them are worth watching.

I'd like to tell you about a huge sculpture.Mount Rushmore,a mountain in the Black Hills of South Dakota.It's noted for its giant busts of four famous U.S. presidents carved.Those are George Washington,Thomas Jefferson,Theodore Roosevelt,and Abraham Lincoln.

This sculpture is carved Gutzon Borglum from 1927 to 1941.He's a great sculptor and made other beautiful works.If you get interesred in him please check him out.

My Future Plan

Someday, I'd like visit Dubai, the rich city in Arabia.In Dubai,you can enjoy the huge desert by a safari car.

Washington,D.C

Washington,D.C is the capital of the United States and has the mainstay of the government. For example the White House and the United States Capitol are located in Washington,D.C.

Ten years ago I went to Washington,D.C and saw the sights of the city. I visited not only these political place but also historic sites and museums. I visited the Smithsonian museums. There were so many museums in the Smithsonian museums that I could not see several days. I thought the National Museum of Natural History was the most interesting. There were many dinosaur skeletons and mammals specimens. These were powerful and exiting for me.

I'm interested in science, history and medicine etc, so I want to go there many times. The Smithsonian must gratify our desire to learn.

Paris

I want to go to Paris very much! Today I will write about it.

When I was a junior high school student, I wanted to be a pianist. My teacher studied classical music at Paris, so I wanted to study it at Paris too. Since then, I am interested in France, especially Paris.

I will take a trip to Paris by my graduating from the university. I want to go to the Arch of Triumph, watch paintings in the Louvre, enjoy an opera, and so on.At Paris, I want to speak French. So now I study French harder than any other subject in the university. I think it is difficult to pronounce good French and there are many differences between English and French.

Actually I'm into it so much, too. I already finished to watch season1 but season2 isn't available in Japan so that I can't watch the folllowing season for a while.

This story is about relationship and friendship of high school students. They are not just simple high school students but rich and smart boys and girls. We can enjoy richful life through this TV program. :) Besids that, the actors and the actresses of this program are very very hot and sweet!! I became a big fan of the leading actress Blake Libry.

I'm sure that this TV program is really worth to watch! This DVD is available at TSUTAYA so that if you have leisure time, you can defenitely enjoy it!!

This work named The Kiss was drawn by Klimt Gastav, an Austrian artist.
I love it!!
The man in this picture is Klimt himself and the woman is his sweetheart.
He drew frank pictures which themes are sensual pleasure.
From his works, you would feel sweet and fascinating eroticism.
But at the same time, the smell of death pervades.
I don't know the reason is this, however, I never see it without being impressed.
I want to see many pieces of pictures around the world and enrich my education.

I'm major in medicine, but to tell the truth, I'm interested in architecture too.

There are many pieces of architecture all over the world and all of them have original structure or attraction.

Specially, I like Templo de la Sagrada Familia.

It was planned by Antonio Gaudi in the end-nineteenth century.

It have been building for more than 100 years, but it is said that it takes another 100 years at least to complete the temple!!

Antonio Gaudi didn't use calculation to lay out.

Instead of it, he made a upsode-down model with chain.

Buildings have to steady structurally. And people have to learn the stability from NATURE.

It's one of his wise sayings.

Unfortunately, I never can see the finished product of Templo de la Sagrada Familia.

But I want to visit Barcelona and see it someday.
