Now, I'll tell you the summer in Sendai. We hold one of the big festivals in Sendai, Sendai Star Festival (Tanabata-Matsuri) in three days in August every year. Many organizations in Sendai make an ornament like this picture and hang it at arcaded street from Sendai station to Sendai City Hall.

There is a superstition about this festival. It is, "while this festival, it is sure to rain". Actually, almost every year, it was rain. However many tourist from outside Sendai and foreign country visit to see this festival.

If you have an opportunity to visit Sendai while the first ten days of August, please see this festival. You will surprise at its sight.
