What sport do you like ?
What kind of sport did you play ?

I belonged to Japanese archery club when I was high school student.

That link is the tournament of Japanese archery 2008.

For my club members, this sport was a battle with the self.
That practice was very hard for us, but we was able to cultivate us patience.

My free topic

I thought a lot about what I wanted to post here for my own free topic. I finally decided on a musician I like a lot, but you probably haven't heard of. I heard of him through the international media and on the Internet, but I couldn't get his music until buying music on the Internet became possible. He's just not that popular in Japan - at least yet. My daughter, who likes J-Pop, thinks he's just too weird.

"Dad, that music is so weird!" She told me.

"Hey, I love Jazz and I love Bluegrass. How could I not love this?" I responded.

Béla Fleck plays music that is an intricate mix of Bluegrass and Jazz, both very indigenous American musical genres that combine African and European instruments and traditions. Music sites like iTunes don't know what genre to put him in, and sometimes his different albums are in different categories. Needless to say, he doesn't get much air play. He's too country for the Jazz stations, but too jazzy for the Country stations. But I do run into other people who like his music.

Japan has both Jazz and Bluegrass musicians. In fact, even before I met my wife and thought of moving here, I had an album of Japanese Bluegrass music that I used to play for friends. And of course everyone who knows anything about Jazz has at least heard of Sadao Watanabe, probably the most famous Japanese Jazz musician ever.

Here's a Béla Fleck clip from YouTube for you to enjoy:

I like playing and watching figure skate!!

I think figure skate has become more popular recently. Are you interested in figure skate?

My favorite figure skater is Brian Joubert!

This picture is Brian Joubert.

He is from France and He has participated in the Olympic Games twice. In 2007, he got a gold medal in a world champinonship.

His motto is perform a quadruple jamp.

A quadruple jamp is to spin four times in the air.

It is the hardest jamp in figure skate.

He says,"If you are real figure skater, you must perform a quadruple jamp!"

He is so deeply attached to quadruple jamp. I think the strong faith of his led to his achievement.
I looked up to him!! What do you think of him?

poppin'

I'm dancing. The genre is called "poppin'". Sound is expressed to play muscle of a body literally. It's better to see an animation more than the explanation is heard." poppin'" is the break dance loved from the past. Yourself's, sound can be expressed as you prefer, so as you have your individuality, it would be able to be a fascinating dancer more. If you interested, lets talk.

The person who put on striped clothes is the dancer I like very much. He's Korean, a handle name, "poppin' ds". His expressive power is free and the tedious dance on the textbook street isn't made fascinating. His home page is put.

his HP:poppin' ds!

I'm also playing other street basketball. Street basketball is the basketball which removed a rule from basketball. The work one considered is used, so the individuality is also asked this about. When this is also interested in you, I and talk, oh, I shoulder.

cool!!!!:D!!!!!!

Some tourists come here every year and drink its water. I have drunk the water before.
It is very fresh and cool. Some of them put some water into a bottle and bring back.

This is famous for its beautiful sea. Many peolpe go swimming and go camping in summer.
Also, beach soccer tournament is held here every year. Many people take part in it.
I usually enjoy swimming in summer (^^)

My hometown, Misawa

I'm from Misawa City in Aomori Prefecture.

It is located the Pacific of Japan in Aomori.

This is the picture of a science museum , "Misawa koukuu kagakukann".

We can see many models of plane and thre are displays, facilitiies, and so on.

The Hotoke swamp was registered the Ramsar Convention in 2006, this is picture of bard, "oosekka".

This is "Ogawara lake". It is the eleventh largest lake in Japan.

There are camping facilities, I can recommend that families go there.

Some other place in Misawa have joyful facilities and beautifl nature.

Moreover, a lot of events hold every year. For instance, the flying festival and Halloween festival. Many people can take part in these events.

If you finds an oppotunity, I want to visit to Misawa. (^-^)/

my home town Tokyou

I want to show you two things about Tokyo.

First thing is the Tokyo Tower.
This picture is the Tokyo Tower. This tower is 333 meters in hight. We can climb up this tower on stairs. This tower is illuminated very well, so this plase is popular for a date spot.

Second thing is a bronze statue of Hatikou.
This place is known as place where people meet with.
I think this place is not good for waiting people,so many people use this place for waiting people that we take a trouble to meet wiht people.

my hometown Gosyogawara

My home town Gosho
gawara is quite famous area in Aomori. When I say on the map, it's in the location like the top.

The station is such feeling. It's the very small station compared with Hirosaki, but everyone is gentle and the station employee is kind. There is a shopping area where I'm degrading around the station. It was very conspicuous before, but a shopping area was just obsolete by establishment in a supermarket.

But there is also something which doesn't change from the past. That's a traditional entertainment in an area and local specialties. Local specialties are introduced this time. There is a lot of one which used apple mainly, but local specialties are also doing pottery making as the one which dried and dried rice cake as rice cake and "tugaru kaneyamayaki". " The tugaru kaneyamayaki" is very beautiful, and there is elegance very much. I have wine, jam and juice in local specialties of apple. My grandfather is growing apple and is making juice and jam. The depth different from an over-the-counter one and the sweetness can be tasted. I think the place where I play is a place good for a little but elegant person in the country.

My hometown, Grand Rapids, Michigan

I don't know if you know it or not, but both Professor Carpenter and I were born in Michigan in the United States. I was born in Grand Rapids, a small town in the southwest of the state. I moved away when I was young, before I started school in fact, and I've lived a lot of places (they say Americans are always on the go), Los Angeles mostly, but my birth is still registered in the Kent County Courthouse in Grand Rapids.

Grand Rapids is a very religious town. In fact, Wikipedia has a whole category about religion in Grand Rapids, rather than just a single page about it. When I was born my father taught at Aquinas College, a Catholic college in town run by the Dominicans, one of the three great intellectual orders of the Catholic Church.

Of course Grand Rapids is very modern now, and has changed a lot since I was born there, but there is still a lot of traditional Americana there.

blog vol.3

Turning fall, we can saw red leaves when we go outside. I like fall season very much.Of course, they said that some people feel sentiment(? or sad?) in fall, I feel it, too, but we can have a good time to eat tasty food in fall.

There are many fall's vegetables and fruits at super market. Especially, my favorite food is pampkins. I ate a Halloween lunch with my friend at Hirosaki university's restaurant today! We were very pleased because we could ate two slices of punpkin and a cup of punpkin's soup. And I want to cook with my friends by using punpkins until this year.

So I'd like to ask you to your favorite fall's foods. What fall's foods do you like?

blog vol.3

All sorts of things happen to us as long as we live. Of course, life is not all beer and skittles. Everyone has a bad day sometimes. Everyone makes mistakes now and then.

"When you feel low about failing, what would you do?"

As for as I'm concerned, it is better for you to dismiss the problem from your mind because you can't win them all. We dread failure, however, we can learn a lot of things from bitter experience. As the saying goes, failure teaches success.

blog vol.3

This homework couldn't be understood a little. Does some free topics be proposed and an exchange of views be done each other by a student? If I make a mistake in understanding, I'm sorry.

Entertainers are collected from the prefecture where a club in Hirosaki is various this week for my topic, and there is an event to which a dance and a song are announced.
One is dancing, too, I'm here, so it's very pleasant that people's various dances can be seen.
An event name is "unity gate". The "denega" in the back of the "tohoku jyosi tannki universuty" from eight o'clock Saturday, this week, so, I think if it's leisure, you should come to play.
The new-style flu is popular, everyone, please be careful. c ya(^^)/

blog homework 2

I want to discuss about global warming.

I can not realized global warming , but I think it is late when I realized it.
Indeed we can not do enormous things like to regenerate a tropical rain forest,
but we can do many things.

For example , when we go shopping , we take a eco bag.

I discuss what we can do about global warming.

blog homework 2

I suggest a subject of one's hometown this time.
For exsample, about climate, nature, local cuisine, and so on.

The reason is, perhaps, our hometown are differ with each other.
I have never lived in except for Aomori Prefecture.
Therfore, I have a little knowledge of another prefecture or city.

It is easy for us to tell that relatively, isn't it?
I want to take this opportunity to tell us about that.

blog homework2

I'd like to suggest that "Why do we belive Character Judgement by blood group?" or "Why do we have some stereotypes about blood group?" Character Judgement by blood group is very popular among young people in Japan, however, people in a different country are not very interested in blood group. Surely, it is impossible to judge the character of the individual by blood group because there are only 4 types in blood group. Then why Character Judgement by blood group is so popular in Japan? In my view, the guess of Character Judgement by blood group is almost right. For example, group A blood is punctual, group B blood is selfish, group O blood is rough, group AB blood is strange and so on. Incidentally, I am group B blood. I suppose that it depends on you whether to belive or not, all things considered. If you interested in this topic, tell me your opinion.

blog homework 2

"What kind of part-time jobs do you want to do?" It is my suggestion. The reason why I choose this topic is that some of you are going to start part-time job for the first time probably. Perhaps you have already started any part-time jobs, but I think some students would like to start something. However, there are many types of part-time jobs. For example, serving, office work, a home tutor, and so on. What kind of part-time jobs are you interested in? Have you ever experienced any part-time jobs? If you have some opinions, please tell me (^^)!!

In this connection, I'm going to work at supporting center of a freshman 2010.
