I guess I should start

This week's assignment is to post an interesting link. I know lots of interesting links and I should really update my links pages with at least some of them. What could I find that would interest you, though? I've already put some of them on the sidebar to this blog. And next week we are supposed to post links about English. So what to link this week?

Hmmmm, . . .

Since one of you likes Latin, maybe I should link two Latin dictionaries that I like. This one is from the University of Notre Dame in the United States. Notre Dame is famous as a football school, but it also has very good academics. This other one is from the Perseus Project at Tufts University, also in the United States.

After English I studied Spanish first and Latin second, but my real second language is Hausa. UCLA has a very good Hausa program and the link will take you to the UCLA Hausa program. Hausa is taught in Japan at Tokyo University of Foreign Studies and I think at Osaka University of Foreign Studies, but I'm not sure.

Well, everyone here isn't interested in languages (although you do have to study them) but they do seem to be interested in music and movies.

I like all kinds of music, especially American music(s)(I have a small section about music on my American studies links page) but also European and African classical and African folk and pops. I download more and more music, and buy from Amazon.com, because I can't find my tastes in the stores very much here in Japan.

I like to read up on movies at the Internet Movie Database. They have lots of information about movies from all over the world. Did you know that one Japanese movie is in their top ten movies of all time? I've seen 8 1/2 of those top ten movies. (No reference to Fellini's film of that nameis intended, although I do like his films, too.) I only watched about half of "Pulp Fiction" and couldn't finish it, it was too disgusting. Worse than "Pink Flamingos". As they said in Latin, "De gustibus non est disputandum." or "There's no arguing about taste."

◎Writing is difficult!◎

I find writing is difficult. Not only in Engrish but olso in Japanese. I've written randomly until now.
For example, I have written "My memory of the outing" in primary school, long and incoherent ,(and considering now , it was terrible!) as composition.
But my teacher gave me "A"!! What's happen? I just wrote long...long? Her gave me the grade as reward the effort?
In juniior high school, I often used to sammary about my experience or books. But my teacher praised me! (In high school, I haven't wrote without the examination writings.)
So, now, I'm in trouble about writing. I couldn't write with theorical and logistic, I find after I enterd this school. But I think this is an important experience. And enjoying writing is important.
Now? Yes, I'm nice with writing this! (If this writing is grammaticaly right or not is anther...^^;)

I have been in trouble of late because I couldn't join this blog. I tried to sign in again and again, but I always failed. When I try to sign in, I always entered my date that I was sure it's correct. Yet I received messages that told me wrong password, each time I entered. I knew the reason today. I didn't entered wrong password. I made a mistake in username(>_<) I thank my friend and Mr. Philips for your advice.

I love listening to music. And I usually listen to foreign music. My favorite vocalists are Back Street Boys, Eminem, Ben Jelen, Evanescence and so on. Listening to music relaxes me. So music is necessary for me.

First, I'll write about this weekend.
About 1 week ago, one of my friends moved.
So this weekend, I went to her new house with my friends and stayed overnight.
We made humburger steaks, watched TV, and enjoyed chat, e.t.c.
It was very nice weekend!!

November 3 to 5 is our university's festival, you know?
Our club (a cappella. 【V.E.L】) will hold a cappella cafe!
We sell some cakes and hot drinks (tea, green tea, coffee) and perform our a cappella songs.

***My favorite movie and music***

I like action film, SF and history film.　But I don't watch horror film. I watched horror film in the dark music room before. It was so scary!! So I don't like horror movie.

What I like to do with watching movie is to think about its world view and what is the best important thing of the main character. It's very interesting for me.


My favorite music is rock music and I like "zebrahead." Their song is very cheerful. I'll write about them next time. Regrettably, I can't understand the words with listening to their song.
So I need to improve the level of my listening skill.

My Interest

I write about an organtransplant operation in Ehime Prefecture.
This is a crime that a person mediated for organtransplant for her husband and pay 300,000 yen and a car as collateral to an oragan donor.

The focus of this crime is that an organ was used as an object. In Japan the case hasn't happened. In many countries, the organ transplant with money has made a problem.

Organs never things. So I think we mustn't sell our organs. I have several reason as my basis for my idea.
First when this event occur, the view of the society to the transplant may change.
Second only the person who has money survives when the buying and selling prevails, and the person who not is can be sold internal organs .
Finally even the internal organs of the person who doesn't have the sold intention might be bought and sold.

I worry this event may cause new events. I want you to think seriously how to see organs and treat them .

What I'd like to brog about

This is my first writing on this brog.I would like to brog about my daily life etc.
For example I will write about myself and my family and friends.

I was going to give an assignment on Friday, wasn't I? Sorry about that. Someone came by my office after class and I had to deal with that. Then there was a problem with the office that I had to deal with (and that's still not finished). Then I was expected to go to the Middle East peace cartoonists talk and exhibition at the 50th Anniversary Hall. Then they had a party for the cartoonists at a nearby shamisen bar and I was expected to go to that, too. Then I had to get back to Akita to see my family. I bought food and wine at Yamaya in Akita and drove back the long way through Hachimantai. I really like the selection at Yamaya.

Hachimantai was beautiful yesterday, and crowded with people taking pictures of the fall foliage. I wish I had more time to see the natural beauty of northern Tohoku. I'm glad I at least got to visit Hachimantai this year. I hope I get out to Towadako or someplace like that this year.

Writing English

I couldn’t write English smoothly but now, thanks to this ⅢB class, I can write. Furthermore, I noticed that I can use Brainstorming, Outlining, Rough Draft, and Final Copy for writing Japanese. These are very useful. I am glad to have learned these ways. Thank you very much!

In this class, I failed many times. I couldn't understand how to write a paragraph. So I was said "I don't think you understand a paragraph." ★A public bath★

Ｉ　went to a public bath with my friends. Since I had a terrible hangover, I wanted to have a sauna to reflesh my feelings. It is very comfortable. I got warm and I drank a cup of cold coffee-flavored milk not beer. It was very delicious! I was very happy.

In this ⅢB class, I had a lot of trouble. First, I am not good at writing English. So it was difficult for me to keep up with class. Second is this blog. I can't use well a computer, so not only participation but also renewal of blog was not easy for me. But in this class, I learned many thing to write English. Through English ⅢB Class, I reconsidered how to write in English. I learned many things to write in English well. For example, I learned brainstorming. Brainstorming is basis of writing. At first, I had difficulty with brainstorming. But, once I got accustomed to brainstorming, it was easy for me!! Outline is also very important. Before I learned outline, I spent a long time writing in English. After I learned outline, writing in English became very interesting for me. So, through this class, I came to write well. From now on, I will continue writing in English logically and correctly. Thank you very much, Professor Philips.

Now I'm so busy because I have to study for the tests and I need to practice playing the drums for the live held next week.
When summer vacation starts, I'll practice playing table tennis for the tournament held in Tokyo.

Summer vacation

UMINOHI

Because a school was closed on July 17, I went to the sea with a friend.
I went by car to the sea of Ajigasawa. Weather was cloudy, and the seawater was cold,though I was pleasant.

The other day , I went to the sea in Azigasawa with my friends.
We used rent-a-car and I drove.
Driving was very very fun.
Though it was cloudy , we swam in the sea.

Equality?

I heard that in Japan's Self-Defence Forces women are treated equally. That is , there is no prejudice and discrimination against women. For example,Yumi Fujita,who is Airman First Class, is judged by performance, not gender. I think that in Japan there is still prejudice and discrimination in many working places. But the number of prejudice and discrimination are decreasing. This is a good thing. After I graduate Hirosaki University, I will work in the hospital in Japan. Then, I want to work in the workplace where there is no prejudice and discrimination.Well, is there still prejudice and discrimination in working place in America?

a temporary driver's lisense

I took a provisional licence test on last Saturday and passed it. I was very happy because I hadn't thouht I could. I went a driving school and receive a temporary driver's lisense. I want to get a driver's license in summer holiday, so I must go a driving school many times in July.

Driving School

I have gone to Mitsuya Driving School since April.
At first, I couldn't even take curves in a road easily.
However, now I can drive in a public road.
I managed to drive in a speedway yesterday.
I'll take a graduation test next Saturday.
I hope I'll pass the test and graduate from school.

Two questions about The Simpsons

I have two questions about The Simpsons. First, in the story which the son fell down a well, singers were singing. Were the singers modeled on WE ARE THE WORLD? The song was different but they looked like the singers of the song WE ARE THE WORLD. Second, in the same story which the son fell down a well, what was the ending? The son was scared but he wasn’t scolded. Is that a happy ending?

I watched Pokemon movie last week. I could not figure out what the character said.
When I was an elementary school student, I watched Pokemon every week. but I can't remember the story. I want to play Pokemon TV game again.

However, each character was so active.
Pikachu was very cute!
Though I haven't played games of Pokemon, I think Pokemon is attractive.

Memories of Pokemon

Last Thursday,I could’t attend class.So,I can’t explain about video of pokemon.I will explain about memories of pokemon instead.Pokemon was very popular when I was junior high school student.Almost all of male students played pokemon game.Pokemon game has three types;red,green and blue.This difference is enemies which appear on the game.Main character advances to defeat boss of enemis.On the way to boss,enemies that are defeated by main character become partner of main character.Main character brings up them and fight together.This was the key to Pokemon's popularity.Pkemon reminds me of my good old days.

I played billiards with my best friend last week at Asahi Bowl. Since we drank a lot

of alcoholic drink, we couldn't give full play to my ability. But billiard is very exciting!

I watched pokemont`s movie in this class. But the speed of English is very fast!!

So I couldn't understand the movie very well. I want to study English hard in order to

grasp several English movies.

Well, pokemon-movie reminded me of my childhood. In those days, I was absorbed

in pokemon-game. I want to play the game again.

The video of Pokemon reminded me of my elementary school days. In those days I was crazy about Pokemon like many children at that time were.
I managed to understand the content of the video, because I know what will happen next.
But I could hardly realize what the characters actually said.

As Ryuhi mentioned, there are both common things and diferent things between Japanese Pokemon and American one. It was fun to see what are different and what are common.

POKEMON

I watched pokemon in English class last Thursday, but I couldn't understand the story well. I was surprised because the speed of English was very fast!!
When I was about 10 years old, pokemon was very popular. Even now, pokemon is very popular. I'm looking forward to watching pokemon again.

Pokemon

I think Pokemon is popular when I was a pupill. I wasn't interested in it then. But my little sister played that game and I saw it. She said the game was very interesting. Propably there is many Pokemon, but I can remember a little. I watched the animation first last Turseday.

You know, pokemon program is adaptation of a TV game that has same name.When I was a pupil, pokemon was popular among children. I liked pokemon too. Then I didn't only played the TV game pokemon but also watched pokemon on TV.I watched pokemon last class. The program recalled me recollections that I played the game and watched the program.

What did you think about pokemon? I couldn’t understand very well. It was very fast, wasn’t it? But pokemon brought me back old memories. Kogyaru was a trend at that time... I was watching pokemon every week when I was an elementary school student. Did you notice? The voices of some pokemons, for example pikachu, are same ones in Japan. So, we would be able to understand them. Hum...

Last week,I caught a cold, so I could not attend the lecture.

Last week

I went my father's parents' home last week.　I met many relatives I haven't seen.
Because we assembled for my grandmother's funeral, we were very busy. many people saw sad.
I am unaccustomed to assembly of relative, so I was very tired and had a cold.

Today, I attended a lecture of a private teacher.
I want to have a part time job.

I belong to an orchestra club, and I play the viola.
Last sunday, we had a concert in Gosyogawara. The concert was for children. We played classic music like "Pomp and Circumstance", "Hungarian dances" and pops music like "The theme of E.T." or "Totoro." It was good experience for me. I was able to find many problems in playing viola. I will practice it more and want to play it well.

A regular badminton game

My club had a regular badminton game with Akita University and Yamagata University. And we went to Akita. Akita is between Yamagata and Aomori so Akita University is host. I was able to know many people and made new friends. We played badminton in the daytime and of couse drunk in the night though we played badminton next day. We talked with them drinking.

Playing tennis!!

Last Saturday, I went to Iwaki to play tennis. At first, the weather was not so good, but gradually the weather became good. It was very hot weather.
Next Sunday, we will play tennis against Akita university and Iwate university. I'm a little nervous, but I want to enjoy playing tennis.

I mean not your goal of future,
but what you see when you fall asleep.
These days I'm very busy everyday,
so I don't have a dream much than before...
Everyday I wake up to find morning,
and I'm always dissapointed.
In the daytime I'm more positive than negative.
But in dreaming, things change. I have had many
horrible dream. For example dropping valley after
I aimed at bad fellows, death of my younger sister,
crashing many dishes when I working....etc.
That's all are strange for me, but no one tell me why.

HOKUITAI FINISHED

I belong to kendo club.Last Sunday,I took part in kendo match held in Spporo.I took part in sinjinsen;freshan,second year student and third year student have qualification to play. Team competition of kendo is one team by 5 people.We finished second.I am not satisfied with this result.Next big game "TOUITAI" will be held in August.I want to continue efforts.

The sea

Today I went to the sea with my friends and my senior by my senior's car. The sea was very beautiful. I wanted to swim. But it was too cold to swim. I want to go there again when it is hot enough to swim. Then we ate chinese noodle. It was very delicious. I enjoyed today!

My grandmother

My grandmoter passed away on Sunday. I had little opportunity to meet her, and the time I met her is about four years ago. But I feel sad. I must go my grandfather's home and help funeral preparation.
